The current owners are the fourth to own the property. The most famous owner was Clyde Bulldog Turner, legendary Hall of Fame NFL center & linebacker for the Chicago Bears. Bulldog Turner was the 7th player drafted in the first round of the NFL draft in 1940. Bulldog Turner played 13 years with the Chicago Bears winning 4 NFL Championships in 1940, 1941, 1943 & 1944, he was elected to the All-Pro team 8 times. When Bulldog Turner retired, the Chicago Bears retired his jersey No. 66 in 1952. Bulldog Turner was elected to The Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1966. When Bulldog retired from the NFL he bought this ranch in the early 1950s where he lived until his death. Michael Barr wrote a book about Bulldog and his retirement to this ranch.
